Combined Necklace Total:  Waaaay too many to count!

You’ve heard it all before when it comes to our freakish obsession with some things…okay, okay, A LOT of things!  But folks, when it comes to necklaces, it gets crazier than even our belt and bodysuit addictions.  The only excuse we can come up with is that necklaces (and vintage jewelry in general) are amongst the dirt cheapest things at thrift stores and flea markets.  Sooooo, purchasing a few or a ton at one time is kind of a no-brainer.  And now with stores like Forever 21 and ASOS making such adorable necklaces for a pittance, our number of places to shop for shiny-can’t-live-without-them pieces has expanded considerably.  We just can’t say no!!  And even though the sight of them piling up can get hectic, a great necklace can add the perfect finishing touch to an outfit or make an outfit on lazy days.  So please, try not to think of us as necklace hoarders and try to see us as collectorseven if it is a total lie.  ;)

Combined Belt Total: 350 +

Tell us the truth.  Are we NUTS?  Okay, so maybe our belt collection is a liiittle excessive, but in our defense they can be total lifesavers when we’re trying to pull together an outfit!  When you’re pressed for time, the right belt can take a basic outfit from boring to ROARING in a snap…or buckle as the case may be.  Vintage belts in particular are super fun to own because there are SO MANY different ones out there…70′s, 80′s, 90′s…every decade has a unique style of its own.  We just heart that and can’t help but to hunt them down and lovingly throw them onto the pile with the others.

So if you’re addicted to belts too and are looking for a support group, look no further, WE SUPPORT YOU!

Raissa, Los Angeles

Call me crazy, but I’m already obsessing about Spring 2010!  I’m envious of all the AMAZINGNESS that has come down the runways the last 2 months, most especially Stella McCartney, Max Azria and Givenchy.  They are my favorites because they always manage to change, but at the same time, somehow always manage to stay the same.  I mean really, how many ways can you make a bandage dress??  Well, if you’re Max Azria, HUNDREDS of ways!

As world renowned designers debuted their latest work with huge shows, I was busy doing the same…on a teeny, tiny, mini level.  I went to Vegas, New York and then back to L.A. to showcase the Brigid Catiis Spring ’10 Collection.  Here are 3 interviews I did that show different perspectives on the new Brigid Catiis Collection, reviews of NYC Fashion shows and other exciting trends coming our way!

Hanneli Mustaparta is one of my ultimate fave fashion bloggers and how we met was so cool!  When I was in NYC, I bumped into her on the street and she asked to photograph me for her blog. Um, DUH, of course!  On top of that, she came up to our showroom, tried on pieces from the Collection and did this video.  Hanneli, you are too sweet!

Marissa and Consuelo are the Buyers and Owners of a Venice, CA based boutique called Ava + Aliria.  During their recent buying trip to L.A Market, they gave me the lowdown on what they’re looking for this Spring ’10.  And P.S. – If you live in L.A. and want to get your hands on some rare designer pieces and hand picked vintage jewelry, GO to their trunk show this weekend in Santa Monica.. everything’s 30% off!

Last, but definitely not least, Taghrid was kind enough to come to L.A. Market to check out the new Collection as well.  Taghrid is so supportive and kind.  How lucky I am to have met her through her awesome blog?  Thank you for everything!

Combined LBD Total: 25 and counting…

Obsessing about LBD’s (and a thousand other things!) is what made us want to start this blog in the first place.  Today, we celebrate our obsessive compulsive tendencies with our 100th post! WHOA!  I know, already?!  We wanted to honor our little milestone by featuring the little black dress.  The fact that we have over 25 LBD’s together…and are always on the hunt for more…is what makes us the closest (and craziest!) of friends.  We like to think of these dresses as our closet’s most dependable BFF!  You can take one to the most formal of parties or the most downtown of clubs and it never fails to be exactly the RIGHT thing to wear.  The LBD also lets you play around with fun and bold accessories to achieve a variety of looks.  There’s a whole army of these babies waiting in our wardrobes to be called on for duty in an instant!  Each one is different in its own special way, but they all manage to define what a true LBD is just the same:  simple and classic.

CHEERS to our 100th post and THANK YOU for reading our blog!

Victim #1: Raissa

Total Snakeskin Shoes: 12

Total Snakeskin Bags: 20+

Total Snakeskin Belts: 15+

The fact that I have pluses next to my numbers is just scary or, how I’ve convinced myself, GREAT!  I mean, c’mon, who doesn’t like options?  I think my OCD with snakeskin started in college and ever since then, we’ve been inseperable.  Everytime I went to the thrift store, snake skin everything was in abundance and I just couldn’t say no!  It always felt like they did something just a little different to each piece to make them all “MUST HAVE” items!  Fast forward to now, with tons of snake skin goodies in my closet, I still can’t get enough.  What can I say?  OCD is really hard to overcome.  HELP!

Total Snakeskin Shoes: 9…

Total Snakeskin Bags: 15…

Total Snakeskin Belts: 20…

If this was a numbers game, Raissa wins hands down.  I’m calling PETA!  Haha, I kid I kid.  I actually LOVE the fact that I have a kindred spirit out there who’s even more obsessed about snakeskin than I am.  It makes me feel much better about my obsessive compulsive nature to buy anything that molts.  Because seriously folks, snakeskin stuff is super EASY to find at any thrift store or flea market and it pretty much goes with everything.  I just don’t see a problem here.  Trust me, after a few cheap and gorgeous snakeskin fixes you won’t need therapy…you’ll need more closet space!
